Maison Maisonnette is an online homeware shop built around a simple belief: that the most interesting objects are the ones that have already lived. Founded and run by Nesrine Aline and based in Luxembourg, it reflects a long-standing love for interiors, flea markets, and the quiet thrill of discovering something old that feels entirely right for today. What began as a personal passion has evolved into a carefully considered space where each piece is chosen with intention.
Every object has already lived a life. Its patina, its wear, and its subtle imperfections are traces of time and details that bring depth and soul. The curation is instinctive and emotion-led, guided by a sensitivity to natural materials and timeless forms. While the pieces come from different historical periods, they are selected with a modern eye and meant to live effortlessly in contemporary interiors.
As a small business, Maison Maisonnette moves at a slower pace than today’s culture of constant newness. Vintage objects have already outlasted trends and fast interiors, and here, they are given the opportunity to do so again. Maison Maisonnette exists to extend their story, offering a second life, a third, a fourth within spaces that value character and quiet beauty.
STORY
The story of Maison Maisonnette began with a move. When my husband and I relocated to Luxembourg, I spent a long time searching for pieces that would give our new apartment a sense of home. Objects with patina, softness, and traces of time, but finding true vintage and antique pieces proved more difficult than I expected. Luxembourg is an international, ever-moving country, where people arrive and leave often. As a result, the second-hand market is largely filled with mass-produced items, passed along as expats move on. What started as a simple desire to furnish and decorate our space gradually took on a deeper meaning, planting the seed of something more.
Life, as it does, took its turn. I became a mother, then a mother again. Those early years were full, intense, and beautiful in their own way. The idea of building a business around vintage and antique homeware rested patiently in the background, knowing it was not yet the right moment. When the most demanding chapter of motherhood began to soften, I returned to that idea with new clarity. Living in Luxembourg revealed itself as an unexpected gift. Small yet centrally located, it allows me to source different objects across countries.
Alongside this, my love for home décor has always been shaped by travel and observation. I have long been captivated by the ways people around the world infuse warmth into their spaces. Quietly noticing the details that make each culture’s interiors unique has inspired the vision behind Maison Maisonnette: to curate thoughtful, timeless and humble objects from different origins that can be mixed and matched to create spaces that feel harmonious and personal.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that a home is shaped not by fleeting trends but by the enduring beauty of thoughtfully chosen pieces. Each item in Maison Maisonnette is selected for its timeless presence, designed to harmonize across
different eras while adding balance, warmth, and a touch of restraint to your
everyday spaces.
Patina, wear, and subtle irregularities are at the heart of
my philosophy. I celebrate time-softened surfaces and signs of life as markers
of authenticity and history. These unique qualities allow objects to feel
personal and well-loved, moving away from the pristine and overly styled.
The collection reflects a commitment to buying less and choosing well. You will find singular vintage objects, hand-thrown ceramics, aged metalware, textiles produced using traditional methods, and paintings by artists lost to time. All pieces are chosen with an emphasis on craftsmanship,
material integrity, and lasting relevance.
Sustainability is quietly woven into my approach, favoring existing objects and thoughtful sourcing.

HOW IT WORKS
SOURCING
I personally source each piece by venturing into neighboring countries such as France, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands.
PREPPING
Every object is carefully cleaned, examined, and prepared, preserving its original character.
SELECTING
Each object spends some time on a shelf in my space before entering the shop, so I can see how it truly feels and whether it deserves its place in the collection.
PREVIEWING
Every collection is introduced with a preview, giving you a first look before it becomes available.
DROPPING
Collections arrive monthly, each with its own character. No two are ever the same.
PACKAGING & SHIPPING
I ship using eco-friendly methods and don't use plastic. Items are carefully packed with a lightweight, compostable material.
